Are you an international student and new in Heidelberg?
Are yout looking for a room? During your studies in Heidelberg would you like to learn more about everyday life in you new home, in addition to yout university studies, and are you willing to lern and get involved?
Then we have a special program for you! Join "Housing for Help"!
This project brings international students together with young families, senior citizens, and others who need a helping hand now and then. "Residential sponsors" provide international students with a room. In return, they get reliable support in everyday life. For example, help with shopping, household chores and garden work, putting out garbage cans, carrying heavy items, lawn mowing, childcare, accompany your sponsors to doctor visits or cultural events, just to name a few examples.
One hour of work per month is exchanged for every square meter room area provided. Additional costs such as telephone oder internet must be paid by the student resident.
"Housing for Help" offers interesting experiences in living together with other people, as well as affordable housing. This is an important advantage in Heidelberg, where affordable housing is scarce"
